The CMPA strives to educate industry participants in an attempt to increase the overall safety of the industry and improve on individual capabilities and knowledge to enhance the productivity of Member’s businesses.
Vocational Training Objectives
- Encourage and assist in the continuous improvement of education and training
- Develop industry traineeships through:
- Promoting the industry to students undertaking secondary and tertiary education as a vocational path
- Encouraging businesses to support, and employees to participate in traineeship training
- Fostering a culture in which employees request vocational training as part of their employment opportunities
- Encouraging businesses to use traineeships as a means of introducing younger people into what is an ageing workforce
- Establishing and supporting networks within the Association that develop a businesses’ understanding of the vocational training options
- Support Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and the state training authority by:
- Encouraging and fostering quality training and assessment
- Assisting the State Training Authority with auditing and registration of industry RTOs
- Addressing the literacy needs of employees within the industry through continual access to WELL funding
- Actively seek funding for both private and public RTOs
